Samuel Durfee House

The Samuel Durfee House is a Newport Rhode Island Bed & Breakfast Inn built in 1803 by banker Samuel Durfee of Providence. It is conveniently located downtown in Newport's Yachting Village. Just a block from the harbor and the restaurants and shops on Thames Street and 1 1/2 blocks from Bellevue Avenue with its mansions, shops, and the Tennis Hall of Fame.

Enjoy a delicious, gourmet breakfast each morning in the dining room or back patio. Specialties of the house include Portuguese Sweet Bread French Toast, Crepes Benedict, Frittata, and Mixed Berry Pancakes.  They also serve Newport Coffee Traders Gourmet Coffee, fresh fruit, home baked bread and a variety of juices daily. Afternoon refreshments are served each day in the parlor.

The Harrison Suite: Named after the famed Newport architect, Peter Harrison, this gracious first floor suite features detailed period paneling and wide floorboards. It is beautifully appointed with a king size mahogany four-poster bed and gas fireplace. French doors lead to a small sitting room which opens out to a large private deck. The spacious private bathroom has a pedestal sink and shower.
